    KNOW HOW

Each MUAS piece carries hours of focused work, thoughtful design, and the calm of four steady hands. But handcraft is never exact — and we believe that’s where its beauty lies. You may notice a glaze trail, a soft curve, a pinhole, a subtle asymmetry — not mistakes, but quiet traces of process and care. Our ceramics are food-safe, fired at 1260°C, and made to be used. Below, you’ll find our guide to caring for your pieces — and answers to the questions we hear most often.

    Dishwasher-safe

    All MUAS pieces are dishwasher-safe.

    Double sealing

All unglazed surfaces are treated twice for extra durability and resistance.

    Diamond-sanded base

Every foot is sanded smooth to be kind to your furniture — no scratches.

    Heat-resistant

Our ceramics can handle the heat — for serving, sipping, or simply holding warmth.

Below you’ll find simple tips to help your ceramics last. Keep in mind, even with the best care, things can happen — a chip appears, a glaze reacts unexpectedly, or something just doesn’t feel right. If that happens, don’t hesitate. Write to us. We’re not a factory — we’re artisans. We know things happen — and when they do, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of. That’s how we do things.

    Care tips

    1. Avoid thermal shock

Let the ceramic piece reach room temperature before adding boiling water. Extreme temperature changes can stress ceramic structure; pre-warm with warm tap water if needed. Each MUAS piece responds to temperature like living matter — calmly, with balance.

    2. Dishwasher-safe — with a note

Our dishes are durable enough for the dishwasher, gentle enough for a lifetime. For irregular forms or delicate glazes, handwashing protects the surface. A quick rinse is often enough. MUAS ceramics age beautifully when treated with care. If a piece isn’t suitable for the dishwasher, you’ll find a clear note in its product description.

    3. Avoid long soaks

Unglazed bases of MUAS ceramics don’t enjoy soaking — even with double sealing, water seeps in over time. Rinse and let air-dry; the raw texture will thank you. Simplicity keeps the craft alive.

    4. Remove stains simply

Tea, coffee or sauce stains disappear with a mild paste of baking soda and water. Apply gently, rinse, and dry. No chemicals, no hurry — the kind of care that becomes a ritual.

    5. Rinse after use

Especially on unglazed parts. A quick rinse keeps the surface pure and the touch unchanged. Between brewing and resting, ceramics remember how they’re treated.

    FAQ

Yes. All MUAS glazes are lead-free, non-toxic, and safe for contact with food and drinks. Each batch is high-fired to secure durability and prevent absorption.

They’re signs of craftsmanship, not flaws. Variations in tone, small pinholes, or subtle asymmetries appear naturally in handmade ceramics. Each piece carries its own fingerprint of making.

Use warm water, a soft sponge, and gentle detergent. For stains, apply a mild baking-soda paste, then rinse thoroughly. Avoid metal scouring pads or strong chemicals — the glaze will thank you.

Yes. MUAS ceramics are durable enough for the dishwasher. For irregular forms or delicate glazes, handwashing is recommended. If a piece isn’t suitable for the dishwasher, this note will appear in the product description.

MUAS ceramics are suitable for use in the microwave — just heat gradually. The material warms like the food itself: slowly, evenly, with patience. If a piece isn’t microwave-safe (for example, contains metallic glaze), this information is clearly stated in its product description.

MUAS ceramics are fired at over 1200°C and can handle high temperatures, but they’re not intended for routine baking or reheating. Always start from room temperature to prevent thermal shock.

Yes, with care. Avoid rubbing rims or pressing irregular shapes together. Using thin felt or cork pads or even piece of paper between stacked pieces is a simple way to prevent scratches.

Yes. They handle both hot and cold contents well, but avoid sudden temperature shocks — from freezer to boiling liquid, for instance.

Each MUAS piece is photographed in natural light to reflect its true character, but subtle variations will occur. Glazes react uniquely in every firing — that’s part of their beauty. Color, shade, and texture may differ slightly from what you see on screen.
